2. Data Collected

2.1 Uploaded Documents

When you upload a document for analysis (PDF or text), its content is processed. Important: documents are not stored permanently. The extracted text is deleted automatically after 7 days, and the complete record after 30 days.

2.2 Technical Data

Every access is recorded in the web server's log file with the IP address, browser type and version, and a timestamp. These logs serve the operation and security of the service; they rotate automatically and are overwritten after a few months. The application itself no longer stores the IP address: it is used only transiently to derive the country, and what is stored is the country, city, browser and device type.

2.3 No Registration Required

To use Klaro, no registration or email address is required. The service can be used completely anonymously.

3. Legal Basis

Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR (consent): For processing the document by AI. Consent is implicitly given by uploading the document.
Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR (legitimate interest): For technical logs necessary for operation.

4. Processors and Recipients

We use the following providers to operate the service. Processing takes place within the European Union except where stated otherwise:

Hetzner Online GmbH (Germany): hosting of the server the entire service runs on.
Amazon Web Services EMEA SARL, Bedrock (Paris region, France): AI analysis of the document. Personal data contained in the document is removed automatically before it is sent.
Amazon Web Services EMEA SARL, SES (Frankfurt region, Germany): delivery of the emails the service sends.
Google Ireland Ltd. / Google LLC (reCAPTCHA): on the contact page only, to tell people apart from automated programs. Submitting the form transmits your IP address and browsing behaviour data to Google, and this processing may also take place in the United States.
Google Ireland Ltd. / Google LLC (Gmail): messages sent through the contact form, and email sent to our @klaro.legal addresses, are received in Gmail mailboxes. Your name, email address and message text are stored there.
Cloudflare, Inc.: domain management (DNS) and receipt of email sent to our @klaro.legal addresses, which is forwarded to a Gmail mailbox. Cloudflare does not act as a proxy for this site's web traffic and does not receive the content of the pages you visit.

Approximate country-level location is determined on our own server using a local database; no data is transmitted to third parties for this purpose.

5. Your Rights

You have the right to: access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability, objection, and to lodge a complaint with the supervisory authority.

6. Right to Object (Art. 21 GDPR)

You may object at any time, on grounds relating to your particular situation, to the processing of your data based on our legitimate interest (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). On this site this concerns the technical server logs and the usage statistics (country, city, browser and device type). If you object, we will stop processing that data unless we can demonstrate compelling legitimate grounds which override your interests, rights and freedoms. We do not carry out direct marketing or profiling, so the unconditional objection right under Art. 21(2) GDPR does not apply here. A message to contacto@martin-schenk.es is enough.
