Use klaro.legal in your own chat
If you use ChatGPT, Claude or Gemini, you can add klaro.legal there as a tool. After that a sentence like “explain this contract” is enough, and the explanation comes from us, clause by clause. There is nothing to install.

The address you need

ChatGPT
Needs a paid account. Custom connections are not available on the free tier.
- 1Open chatgpt.com/plugins.
- 2Click the plus and choose “Add custom MCP server”.
- 3Enter klaro.legal as the name. The description can stay empty.
- 4Under “Connection”, paste the address from above into “Server URL”.
- 5For authentication choose “No authentication”.
- 6Read the warning and confirm “I understand and want to continue”.
- 7Click “Create as a plugin”, then install the plugin.
In a conversation, type @ and pick klaro.legal. It helps to say that the explanation should come from klaro.legal.
Claude
Works on every plan. The free plan allows one custom connection.
- 1Open claude.ai/customize/connectors.
- 2Click “Add custom connector”.
- 3Paste the address from above as the server address.
- 4For authentication choose “No sign-in”.
- 5Click “Add”.
On a Team or Enterprise account an Owner adds it under “Organization settings > Connectors”, and each member then connects with their own account.
Gemini
Set up in a business account. The personal app needs its own subscription, and the large Enterprise edition cannot be used, see the note below.
- 1Open business.gemini.google and sign in.
- 2Click “Settings & help”.
- 3Pick your team, then “Manage team” and “Connected apps”.
- 4Click “Add MCP Server”.
- 5Enter the address from above as “Server URL”, add a name, then click “Next”.
- 6Under “Authentication settings” choose “No authentication” and click “Add”.
- 7Pick a location from the Multi-region list, name the connection and click “Add”.
- 8Switch the connection on. It starts switched off and stays invisible to your team until you do.
Three things matter here. The personal Gemini app only supports custom connections on the matching subscription, and Google does not document that path publicly, so it is not spelled out here. The large Gemini Enterprise edition requires OAuth sign-in, and because klaro.legal deliberately works without an account, it cannot be added there. Google marks the business feature as a pre-release version.
Claude Code and other programs
For anyone working on the command line.
Run this command:
claude mcp add --transport http klaro-legal https://klaro.legal/api/mcpAny other program that speaks Streamable HTTP takes the same address. There are no credentials to enter anywhere.
What you can say afterwards
Paste the text of a contract or letter into the chat, or attach a photo or a PDF, and then say something like:
- Explain this tenancy agreement using klaro.legal.
- What does this notice say? Use klaro.legal for it.
- Walk me through these terms clause by clause with klaro.legal.
What you should know
- ·Files up to 8 MB per call, up to 15 pages as photos. Plain text has no limit.
- ·Explanations come in German, English, Spanish, French, Italian and Portuguese.
- ·Plain text takes 20 to 60 seconds, a scan or photo longer because it has to be read first.
- ·It costs nothing and you need no account with us.
What happens to the document
The route is the same as uploading on this website. Names and addresses are removed before the analysis, processing happens on servers inside the European Union, and nothing is passed on.
